ST. PETERSBURG (FOX 13) - You know the old saying: one man's trash is another man's treasure. The city of St. Petersburg put that to the test on Saturday, auctioning off hundreds of old, and in some cases obsolete, items belonging to the city.
Computers and electronics from the Reagan era, mad-men style furniture; entire generations worth of office supplies no longer needed by the city were all on the auction block.
Pallets of dell computers, a trio of church pews, slate-top Herman Miller tables and dozens of office chairs, bookcases and desks all helped net $3,500 for the city's general fund.
Most items were sold, some for as low as $10, though a few still remain. Interested buyers can check out the city's stash at Govdeals.com.
