Good Samaritan helps family when SUV catches fire

- A good Samaritan stopped and helped a family after their vehicle caught fire Monday night.

Witnesses said a mother and four children were in the SUV when the fire started on the Selmon Expressway. They pulled over just as the vehicle was bursting into flames.

Moments later, another driver, LaToya Carter, stopped and helped the family to safety.  She put the woman and children in her vehicle and kept a good distance from the fire.

Firefighters arrived shortly after and put out the blaze. The vehicle was destroyed, but fortunately no one was hurt.

Carter said it's believed that the SUV's radiator exploded.
