New BMX track opens in Sarasota County

- Sarasota County officials held a ribbon-cutting ceremony for a new BMX track Saturday morning.

The track is located at the county's Youth Athletic Complex on North Tuttle Avenue.

The complex and track underwent a $2.4 million renovation project, which included upgraded lighting and drainage, and new landscaping.

Residents enjoyed BMX demonstrations and refreshments at Saturday's grand opening event.

The athletic complex is considered one of Sarasota County's most valued sports facilities.
