Two people and a dog were killed overnight after a Polk County mobile home went up in flames.

Fire and Rescue crews were called to the scene on Old Polk City Road shortly after 1 a.m., when a passerby reported seeing the mobile home on fire.

The first crew arrived within 10 minutes, and said about 75 percent of the home was already engulfed in flames.
By the time they were able to get inside, we’re told they found the bodies of a man and a woman who were unable to get out in time.

Officials have since identified the victims as Denny Shane Bassford, 46, and Susan Denese Hall, 41.

One dog was also said to have passed away in the fire.  Another was injured, and two others on the property were said to be OK.

The Fire Marshal and investigators were on scene hours later working to determine the cause of the flames.
