DHSMV releasing redesigned Animal Friend specialty license plate

Are you an animal lover? The Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles (DHSMV) is releasing something just for you— and all for a good cause.

A newly redesigned “Animal Friend” specialty license plate will be available October 7.

The “Animal Friend” specialty license plate was first released in April 2005, but the design has not been updated since. The brand new, re-vamped plate features an adorable puppy and kitten with a background image of a Florida beach.

The new plate will cost $25 for the specialty plate fee in addition to the other registration fees. The funds raised from this specialty license plate are distributed to Florida Animal Friend, Inc., to fund spay and neuter programs.

Florida residents interested in purchasing the new Animal Friend specialty plate are encouraged to contact their local tax collector or tag agency office for availability. A list of locations can be found online at
www.flhsmv.gov/locations.
