Pasco student hit by car in critical condition

- A 13-year-old Pasco County student is in the hospital with critical injuries after being hit by a vehicle in Port Richey Thursday morning.

Emergency crews responded to the incident at Congress Street and Ridge Road around 7:18 a.m. 

The Pasco County Sheriff’s Office told media that the boy suffered life-threatening injuries as a result of the crash.

According to Florida Highway Patrol, 13-year-old Gabrial Rodriguez ran across the road and into the path of an oncoming SUV.

The driver of the SUV was 37-year-old Rocco Chicarilli. He suffered minor injuries. Chicarilli faces no charges at this time.
