Police investigate near-drowning of 4-month-old

- North Port police are investigating after a 4-month-old little boy nearly drowned Wednesday evening. 

According to police, emergency crews responded to a home on Traverse Avenue for a reported drowning. First responders were able to revive the baby boy, who had been getting a bath at the time of the incident. 

The infant was transported to All Children's Hospital in St. Petersburg, where reports say he is in critical condition. 

The case is "very active and ongoing," say police.
