Wrong-way crash involving officer in South Tampa

- A traffic crash involving a Tampa police officer and a wrong-way driver is under investigation Monday morning.  

The Tampa police officer was driving his patrol car along E. Kennedy Boulevard at 3:22 a.m. on Monday when a vehicle traveling in the wrong direction on S. Hyde Park Avenue collided into the car. Hyde Park Avenue is a one-way southbound street, however the driver was traveling northbound.  

The officer was transported to Tampa General Hospital with minor injuries. The citizen was not injured. It is not known at this time whether alcohol was involved in the incident.
