Photos: Alligators crowd around Myakka River State Park
One of the best places to see alligators in Florida is near an old sinkhole at lower Myakka Lake in Sarasota. They gather near what's called 'Deep Hole', which is a 200-foot-wide, 130- to 140-foot-deep pool at Myakka River State Park.
Wildlife photographer Lee Dalton recently made the trek through the park to capture the scene for himself. His photos show alligator after alligator sunning and, occasionally, snacking.
