Police: Teen snatches woman's keys, steals car

- Two teens grabbed a woman's car keys right out of her hands and stole her car at a Staples retails store in St. Petersburg.

It was caught on surveillance video and police hope the public can help identify the suspects.

It happened just before 5 p.m. Saturday, May 20 at the Staples on 34th Street N. Video shows the boys outside of the store when the woman pulls up, parks, and goes inside.

The boys trail her into the store and follow her through an aisle. The woman later told police she realized the teens were following her.

That's when one of them apparently grabs her keys and sprints to the front door. Police said he got into the car and drove away. Police did not say if the other teen got in the car with him.

The woman's car has since been found but police are still looking for the teens. Anyone with information about what happened or the suspects is asked to call 727-893-7780.
