Man drives off with $7,600 lawn mower

- It was a low-speed getaway, but it worked. Now police in Clearwater are hoping you can help them identify the man who drove off on a stolen lawnmower.

Police say the crime happened at Quality Mowers on Gulf-to-Bay Boulevard earlier this month.  Surveillance video shared by CPD showed the man riding off on a red Toro Z500 mower valued at $7,600.

“It would need a trailer to be transported -- unless you're stealing it from the business,” a police spokesperson pointed out.

The suspect is described by police as a white male in his 30s or 40s, wearing a red baseball cap, black shorts, and a blue t-shirt.
