ST. PETERSBURG (FOX 13) - A worker at the Leap of Faith Christian Pre-school has been fired for allegedly abusing some of the children there.
Linda Williams, 58, has been charged with child abuse.
”She mashed by baby's head into the bed cot and you could see, at one point, picked up my baby by arm threw her into a cot,” a parent, who did not want to be identified, told FOX 13 News.
Williams is also accused of being aggressive with another young victim. The incidents were caught on surveillance video Friday.
”Basically it was like a little infant gazelle being attacked by a big grown lion,” said one of the victim’s fathers, Joseph Little, III.
Williams worked at the pre-school since January. The new director says when she first saw the video she called the police.
“My main focus is just the children and their safety, so anytime I feel the children’s safety is in jeopardy I’m going to do what I need to keep them safe,” said director Christina Rogers.
She wouldn’t say how long the alleged abuse went on, but the little girl’s parents suspect it was on-going.
“We bring the baby here. As soon as we drop the baby off she starts hollering and crying. I always wondered why. Come to find out, this here straight blew me,” Little said.
Williams has been fired. She was placed in jail on a $5,000 bond.
