Search for robber who shot St. Pete clerk

- An armed robber shot a convenience store clerk this weekend. Now, police are hoping you can help them identify the gunman.

It was around 10:30 p.m. Saturday when a masked man entered the Easy Stop 2 on 16th Street N.  Police say he pointed a gun at the clerk and demanded cash, then shot the clerk in the arm even though he complied.

Detectives are asking the public for help identifying the suspect.  They released surveillance video showing him inside the store as well as in a nearby lot, moments before the robbery.

Anyone with information is asked to call (727) 893-7780 or text SPPD plus your tip to TIP411.

The clerk, meanwhile, is expected to recover.
