Grandparents, deputies beg for information on missing baby

- The grandmothers of a nine-week-old missing boy could not fight back tears as they read a prepared statement, during which they pleaded for their son and daughter to come forward with information about their son, Chance Walsh.

He has been missing since September 9.

"Do what's right," said Sally Susino.

According to deputies, Kristen Bury and Joseph Walsh have lied to them about what happened to their son, Chance.

The couple has told deputies several stories- one that Chance was killed in a car crash in South Carolina, another that he was dropped off with a woman in Georgia.

Both were found to be untrue.

"We are begging anyone who has any information as to Chance's whereabouts," Susino said.

After the lies, and finding of blood in Bury and Walsh's home, and after a cadaver sniffing dog activated on a door frame, deputies are pointed squarely at the two who were supposed to care for him most.

"We have been getting tips," said Wendy Rose, a spokeswoman for the Sarasota Co. Sheriff's Office. "We have been vetting the tips we are getting."

Bury and Walsh are only locked up on child neglect charges in South Carolina, where they said they were vacationing, even after the baby was reported missing by nervous grandparents.

In their three-minute statement, the grandparents said they knew more than they could talk about publicly.

The one certainty is they want Chance home. Now.

"We ask everyone for your continued prayers for Chance and for our families to find him," said Susino.

The Sarasota Co. Sheriff's Office has set up a hotline to call with any substantive tips. The number is 941-861-4074.
