4 children arrested for transmission of child pornography

- Four children were arrested after one of them secretly recorded video of a 14-year-old girl performing a sex act on him and then posted it on social media, according to the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office.

The children, who range in age from 12- to 14-years-old, face charges related to production and transmission of child pornography of a child under 18-years-old.

HCSO says the girl's mother reached out after discovering her daughter was recorded performing a sex act on one of the boys, a 12-year-old, inside a JCPenny dressing room. The recording was apparently sent on cell phones and through social media to other students at Burns Middle School.

HCSO says the video was recorded March 18. Between that day and March 26, investigators say the video was sent by the recorder to another boy through social media. HCSO says the recorder's intention was for the video to be posted publicly.

Investigators say the boy who received the video from the recorder created an Instagram and posted the video, and two other children, both 12, posted the video to their existing Instagram accounts. All four have now been arrested and charged. They were taken to the Hillsborough County Juvenile Assessment Center.

The recorder of the video, a 12-year-old from Valrico, was charged with production of child pornography-child less than 18 years of age and transmission of child pornography.

Two boys, both 12-years-old and from Valrico, face a charge of transmission of child pornography.

The fourth boy - who investigators is 14-years-old, from Brandon, and created an Instagram account for posting the video - faces charges of promotion of child pornography-child less than 18 years of age, transmission of child pornography, and possession of child pornography.
