Man's body found in park; murder investigation underway

- Investigators have made an arrest in the murder of a man whose body was found in a Bay area park overnight.

Clearwater police said the body was discovered in the parking lot of Glen Oaks Park, located in the 1300 block of Court Street.

A passerby spotted the man’s body near the restrooms shortly after midnight and alerted police. 

Investigators are now calling the man a victim, saying he died after suffering “upper body trauma.” His identity has not yet been released because they are trying to notify next of kin, but police say he was 48-years-old.

Police arrested Raul Santos Quinones, 22, and charged him with first degree murder. 

He was transported to the Pinellas County Jail.

Both Quinones and the victim were transients, police said.
