- Pinellas County deputies are investigating a case of animal cruelty.

Detectives say a fisherman found the body of a pit bull floating near the Weedon Island Preserve with a short rope around her neck attached to a cinder block.

The remains were taken to the SPCA of Tampa Bay.

The dog is described as brown in color with a white underside.

Anyone with information about this is asked to contact the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office.
