6 rescued by officers, bystanders after boat sinks

- Some fast-thinking bystanders helped rescue crews and officers pull six people from the water after their boat capsized west of the Courtney Campbell Causeway Saturday evening. 

The Tampa Police Department said a call came in just after 7 p.m. about the sinking boat. Police and Tampa Fire Rescue responded, and some people at the scene helped pull the six people to safety. 

They were taken to the hospital for minor injuries.
