Valrico good Samaritan helps save trapped kitten

- A kitten that fell down a pipe is lucky someone heard its cries and called for help Tuesday evening.

Heidi Douglas said she heard a cat crying as she left the Dollar General at  3474 Florida 60 in Valrico.

When she went into the wooded area next to the parking lot, she found the feline stuck at the bottom of a pipe, which was buried about six feet into the ground.

Douglas called animal services and employees from Dollar General helped while they pulled the kitten from the pipe.

And that wasn't where the kitty's luck ended. Douglas said she was happy to welcome the little kitten into her family.
