School bus driver cited after crash

- A school bus carrying 31 elementary-age children was involved in an accident near the intersection of U.S. 301 and Cowley Road.

Hillsborough County Fire and Rescue initially said at least five children were taken to the hospital, but Florida Highway Patrol later said only two were taken.

Hillsborough crews said no one was seriously injured in the accident. Fire and rescue was still assessing students on board the bus.

The students were from Summerfield Crossings Elementary School.

Troopers say the driver was cited for failing to yield.

Officials initially stated 60 students were on board the bus. This article has been updated to reflect their second report of 31 students on board.
