Man who tired to run over deputy arrested in Winter Springs

- A man wanted for the attempted murder of a law enforcement officer was arrested Wednesday.

J’Rokton Williams, 26, was on the run after Pasco County deputies said he put his vehicle in reverse and accelerated toward a deputy over the weekend.

The deputy tried to shoot at Williams' light purple Infiniti to try and stop it. No one was injured in the incident.

Deputies with the Seminole County Sheriff's Office and the Florida Department of Law Enforcement caught up with Williams Wednesday. He was arrested and faces charges of attempted homicide of an officer. He also had multiple outstanding felony warrants.

He was booked into the John E. Polk Correctional Facility in Seminole County.
