Truck slams into pole on EB Ulmerton Rd.

- The eastbound lanes of Ulmerton Road were blocked and several emergency rescue crews were called after a driver slammed into a pole early Monday morning.

The crash happened sometime around 4 a.m. at the intersection of Ulmerton Road and Feather Sound.

A view from the scene showed a vehicle so mangled and warped , it was almost impossible to determine its make and model, but a FOX 13 photojournalist has since said it was a Ford F-150 that hit the pole.

Several emergency and rescue crews worked to extricate the driver from the truck, but were unable to do so until they called on yet another team for assistance.

Medical crews later pulled the driver from inside and headed to the hospital.

Injuries were said to be life-threatening.

FOX 13 will continue with updates on this developing story.
