Amsoil Arenacross races into Amalie Arena this weekend

- It's going to be a busy day for crews at the Amalie Arena.

Following Thursdays Tampa Bay Lightning game against Winnipeg Jets, crews will begin covering the arena’s ice floor with an estimated 3,000 tons of dirt.

The Amsoil Arenacross is racing into the arena this weekend, requiring 170 truckloads of dirt.

The Arenacross event is set for a 7 p.m. Saturday start, with more races scheduled for noon on Sunday.

Tickets on Saturday, which is professional racing day, start at $10 and go up to $50 for level one seating.

Tickets for Sunday's amateur day are $10.
