Storm damage reported at Myakka Pines Golf Club

- Some of the rough weather that moved through the Tampa Bay area left behind some damage at the Myakka Pines Golf Club in Englewood Wednesday.

There were downed trees and branches contained to the #7 Red Course tee, possibly due to a tornado. The course was closed Thursday because of soggy fairways and standing water but it was expected to reopen on Friday.

Photos taken at the course show a tree and branches strewn across the cart path. Another photo shows one of the smaller resident alligators even trying to crawl into a drainage pipe at the course. Goliath, the largest alligator known to live there, is doing "quite well," said General Manager Mickie Zada.

No injuries were reported during the storm.
