AAA offers Tow to Go service on Cinco de Mayo

(AAA)

AAA has a message for those who plan on partying for Cinco de Mayo: Drive safely, or don’t drive at all.

And to make it easy for those who consume one too many margaritas today, they’re offering their free Tow to Go service.

Members and non-members alike can call their local AAA, and they will send a tow truck to give you ride and a free tow, anywhere within a 10 mile radius.

The Auto Club Group Traffic Safety Foundation and Budweiser launched the service to prevent impaired drivers from getting behind the wheel and risking the lives and safety of other motorists.

The service will be available through 6 a.m. Friday.

They ask those who plan on using the service to consider the following guidelines:

  • Tow trucks can take up to two people home. If there are more people in your party, you will need to make other arrangements to get home safely.
  • You can’t make an appointment to use the Tow to Go service, it is designed to be used as a last resort. So choose a designated driver before you have your first drink.
  • It may be necessary, in certain situations, for AAA to contact a cab company or local law enforcement to assist with getting an impaired individual a safe ride home.
