Adopt a pet for free at Hillsborough County Pet Resources

- Adoption fees have been waived at Hillsborough County Pet Resources as part of a national movement for 10,000 pets to be adopted within 10 days.

Until July 3, the fees for adoptable pets at the center, located at 440 North Falkenburg Road. County officials say all of the pets have been spayed or neutered, microchipped and vaccinated.

The effort was organized by Best Friends Animal Society to help 10,000 furry friends find a forever home. The Pet Resource Center is currently overcapacity, with more than 540 dogs and cats.

The center is open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., Tuesday through Sunday. Adoptable pets can be viewed on their website
