Pedestrian passes away following Sarasota crash

SARASOTA, Fla. (FOX 13) - A pedestrian is dead following a crash in Sarasota, police said.

The vehicle crash has closed the northbound lanes of South Tamiami Trail between Arlington Street and Hawthorne Street. Police said the pedestrian, an adult male, passed away following the crash.

The victim has not been identified. The events leading up to the crash remains under investigation. There is no word on when lanes will reopen.
