There’s a new YMCA in town.

The Spurlino Family YMCA is open for business on Big Bend Road in Riverview. It’s the Bay Area’s first YMCA location in nearly 18 years, but that streak ended Thursday.

The organization said it features 32,000 square feet of indoor space, an outdoor aquatic center, and fun play areas. Tampa Bay had 18 locations, with 10 in Tampa. This will be the area's 19th facility.

People were already working out by Thursday morning, which was the time of its grand opening. There is also a child care option as parents or guardians pump iron at the YMCA location.

"We've got everything rocking and rolling," said Jeremy Hester, Executive Director at the new YMCA. "We have workout areas for everyone. We have lots of things to do for kids -- sports, different programs. We are very excited."
