April 12th is National Grilled Cheese Sandwich Day

TAMPA (FOX 13) - Today, the U.S. celebrates one of the best comfort foods ever! That’s because it’s "National Grilled Cheese Day."
According to NationalDayCalendar.com, cooked bread and cheese is an ancient food, but it became an American classic in the 1920s, when inexpensive sliced bread and American cheese became easily available.
The website offers two recipes for those who want to celebrate the “holiday “in their very own kitchens:
But there is also a deal being offered at a Bay area restaurant that actually specializes in the soft, yet crispy sandwich creation.
It's called Tom and Chee, and they’re offering their classic grilled cheese sandwich for just $2 in honor of the day.
They also offer a grilled cheese sandwich that’s made with mac and cheese!
