Attempted murder suspect captured in Georgia

- A reportedly dangerous fugitive from Sarasota has been taken into custody.

Detectives say Christopher Higginbotham has been arrested in rural northern Georgia.

Higgenbotham, 43, is wanted for attempted murder.  He's accused of attacking a former girlfriend at her home and trying to smother her with a pillow.

The alleged crime happened last month while she was home with her teenage daughter.

The victim escaped to a neighbor's house for help.

Higgenbotham was reportedly staying with a friend who did not know he was wanted by authorities.
