Bar plans to beef up security for concert by rapper Kevin Gates

Security will be dramatically increased at Whiskey North in Tampa for Sunday night's concert by rapper Kevin Gates.

It's just the latest fallout after Gates was caught on video kicking a female fan during a concert last Friday in Lakeland.

Whiskey North will have more than thirty in-house security guards, and more than a dozen armed guards working during Sunday's concert.

The bar will also have an EMT, a female guard and bike patrols working Sunday.

Gates has been been charged with a  crime, lost a number of fans, and even had his music pulled from a Tampa

Hip Hop station after the kicking incident.

Now the owners of Whiskey North are saying they'd rather not host the concert, but a Facebook post says they're contractually obligated.

A recent Facebook post by the owners of the bar spells out their frustration with the rapper.

The post indicates the contract was signed long before the Lakeland incident.
