Boater spots body in Hillsborough River

- Police in Tampa are investigating after a boater spotted a body in the Hillsborough River on Tuesday. 

According to Tampa police, the boater called 911 after spotting what appeared to be a body near the 40th Street Bridge.  The TPD Dive Team responded and pulled the body of an unidentified male from the water.

There were no obvious signs of foul play and it wasn’t clear how long the body had been in the water.

The Hillsborough County Medical Examiner's Office will try to figure out the person’s identity and cause of death.
