Bradenton police investigate deadly shooting

- Bradenton police hope to quickly identify a suspect in a deadly shooting Tuesday.

Detectives said someone shot and killed 33-year-old John Tuxford near the intersection of 11th Street east and 8th Avenue East.

Investigators think Tuxford was in a car when someone shot him. The car them slammed into a tree. They believe the shooter was driving a dark SUV.

Investigators said this is the first homicide of the year in the city of Bradenton.
