Burglar shot by homeowner, TPD investigating

- Tampa police are investigating after a burglary suspect was shot by a homeowner Tuesday morning.

Police said a woman was notified of the burglar in her home on North B St. just after 10 a.m. after her surveillance system activated on her phone.

Police said she called police and a family member, and the family member arrived at the home before police. The burglar was shot and transported to the hospital with serious injuries, police said.

The family is cooperating with police during the investigation.
