2-year-old dies in accidental drowning, deputies say

- A 2-year-old has passed away after a drowning in Port Richey early Sunday afternoon, according to Pasco County deputies. 

Emergency crews were called to the 10,000 block of Willow Drive in Port Richey where they found a 2-year-old unresponsive.

According to the sheriff's office, it appears the child was able to get out of a lanai and was found floating in a lake.

The child was taken to a hospital, but died latter in the evening. 

The incident appears to be accidental but is under investigation.
