- The Clearwater Police Department says one of its officers was involved in a crash at Rosery Road and Clearwater-Largo Road Tuesday night.

CPD says the officer was taken to Morton Plant Hospital for treatment of injuries, but was later released. His K9 is expected to be OK, after getting checked out by a local animal hospital.

Two people in the other car were taken to Bayfront Health St. Petersburg for treatment of their injuries, and police say they are "stable."

Clearwater police said the crash investigation could take hours. The crash happened just before 10 p.m.
