COPS: 2 dead, another injured in murder-suicide incident

- Two people are dead and another is injured following a murder/suicide incident involving a separated couple at a Bradenton home.

The Manatee County Sheriff’s Office says it happened in the 12000 block of Daisy Place around midnight, where they arrived to find 32-year-old David Mahoney, Jr. and his estranged wife, 26-year-old Alicia Mahoney, shot dead in the garage.

David’s mother, Sharron, had reportedly also been shot, but she was still alive.

According to investigators, the incident started earlier in the night, when David and Alicia got into an argument at a local restaurant, and David left her there.

Deputies say he then went to his parents’ home, where he was staying, and that Alicia followed soon after.

David was waiting for her when she got there, and detectives say the argument picked up right where it left off- only this time in the home’s garage.

That’s when deputies say David ended up grabbing a gun from inside one of the parked cars, and using it to shoot Alicia before he then turned it on himself.

David’s mother was reportedly standing behind Alicia when the shots were fired, and ended up being hit twice in her right foot.

She was taken to a nearby hospital, where she is expected to recover.

FOX 13 will continue with updates as they become available.
