Motorcyclist killed in Courtney Campbell Causeway crash

- Tampa police said one motorcyclist was killed and another is in critical condition following a crash Saturday night.

According to authorities, the motorcyclists crashed around 9:15 p.m. in the westbound lanes of the Courtney Campbell Causeway.

Police said one of the motorcycles burst into flames after the accident.

One victim was taken to St. Joseph's Hospital, where they died. The other was taken to Bayfront Hospital in critical condition.

The motorcyclists are a couple and police said that speed is believed to be a factor in the collision.

The causeway was shut down for several hours after the crash, but it has since reopened.
