CUTE ALERT: 2 baby sloths born at Busch Gardens

- Two adorable baby sloths are the newest additions to Busch Gardens Tampa Bay.

A Hoffman's two-toed sloth was born on March 24 weighing just 6.6 ounces. The animal team noticed the baby was not nursing regularly, so they decided to hand-nurse the baby every two hours via syringe. The baby is under 24-hour watch by the animal care team.

The second baby, a Linne's two-toed sloth, is healthy and weighed 19.4 ounces at birth. The baby is being cared for by its mother.

Guests to the park will soon be able to see the baby sloths at Jambo Junction.

The sloths' births are part of the Busch Gardens' partnership with the Association of Zoos and Aquariums, which helps to manage species populations.
