Deputies search for attempted home invasion suspect

- Deputies are searching for a man who attempted to break into the home of a Pasco County woman, they say.

On Tuesday, after 8 p.m., the unknown man knocked on the front door of the home located on Devonshire Drive in Holiday, according to the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office.

According to detectives, the victim answered the door and the suspect forced his way into the home while demanding cash. He told the victim he had a gun and would shoot her.

The suspect then attempted to shut the door, but the victim was screaming for help and refused to the let the front door close, investigators say.

The suspect said he was going to return and shoot her, according to a media release. He ran into a dark-colored car and entered into the passenger side of the vehicle.
