Deputies search for home invasion suspect in Lutz
LUTZ (FOX 13) - Deputies are searching for a suspect who broke into a home in Lutz and shot the victim in the face, they say.
On Monday, around 6 p.m., the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office received a call about an unknown man who broke into the home on Deer Forest Drive. The individual inside the home “struggled” with the suspect, detectives say, and was shot in the face twice.
The suspect fled into a wooded area behind the property and deputies are continuing to search for him.
Detectives say the victim was transported to Tampa General Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, and they do not believe this was a random act.
