Deputies: Sex offender inappropriately touched disabled woman

- The Pinellas County Sheriff's Office arrested a registered sex offender early Saturday morning.

According to deputies, the victim, who is disabled, was sitting outside of her home when 34-year-old Jacques Fields approached her around 5:30 a.m. and asked her to have sex with him.

Deputies said the victim told the suspect to leave multiple times and she went inside her home to search for a weapon. When she opened the door to confront Fields, he forcefully touched the woman's breasts.

Investigators said the victim punched the suspect and yelled for help. That's when he ran from the area.

Deputies who were searching the neighborhood located Fields, who was identified by the victim.

Fields is charged with lewd and lascivious battery of a disabled adult, and felony battery. He is a sex offender stemming from a 2005 sexual battery case.
