Driver dies after veering into path of truck

- A 46-year-old Palm Harbor man was killed when the car she was driving veered into the path of an oncoming truck along State Road 52 in Pasco County.

It was just after 11 a.m. when the crash occurred at SR 52 and Secretariat Road.  Troopers say the Volkswagen Passat crossed into the path of a flatbed semi-truck carrying roof trusses.

The impact of the crash badly damaged the care and killed the man, whose was later identified as Kurt Arno Meske, 46.

The truck driver suffered minor injuries even though the truck itself jackknifed and wound up half-submerged in a swamp alongside the road.

Troopers say they don't know what caused the car to veer out of its lane.
