A cold-hearted suspect is wanted for carjacking an elderly woman Thursday morning.

It happened around 10 a.m. outside the Publix on Ridge Road in Port Richey.  The 83-year-old victim was loading groceries in her car when she was approached by the female suspect.

The woman asked the 83-year-old if she needed help loading her groceries.  The victim said no and the suspect walked away, but returned a few seconds later and reached into the elderly woman's pockets -- taking her keys and driving off in her 2003 white Cadillac Deville.

"Anyone who takes advantage of the elderly, the sick, the handicapped, they're not in a good place," observed PCSO spokesman Eddie Daniels Jr.  "Hopefully we can get ahold of this person, find out what was going on with her and find out why she did what she did.  Hopefully we'll have results that'll end in an arrest."

The news has shoppers like George Watson on edge.

"It's a little shocking for this area," said Watson.

"That can happen to anybody at any time - that is creepy," said Robyn Wells.

Deputies say the suspect has been identified as 26-year-old Amber Rae Arnesen.  Officers say she  picked up a 25-year-old white male towards the end of the plaza, then headed west on Ridge Road.

A warrant has been issued for Arnesen.  If you know where to find her, contact authorities.

The 83-year-old was not hurt.
