U.S. 301 reopens in Bradenton following fatal crash

BRADENTON (FOX 13) - A section of U.S. 301 was shut down for hours after a fatal early-morning crash involving a semi and another vehicle.

Early reports said it happened around 3 a.m. on U.S. 301 near 63rd Avenue. A vehicle reportedly slid under the semi, killing one person.

Footage from the scene showed shards of glass, crushed metal and other scattered debris as crews worked to remove the vehicle from underneath the truck and clear the scene.

The roads later re-opened more than four hours after the crash. 

No additional information has been released.
