Firefighters battle 3-alarm fire in Oldsmar

A three-alarm fire at a warehouse in Oldsmar is under investigation.  

Around 8 p.m. Monday, multiple fire departments were called to AWS Carpenter Contractors on Dunbar Avenue. According to Oldsmar fire officials, police first arrived on the scene after reports of a burglary alarm sounding. They found flames shooting from the roof on the west end of the warehouse.

The AWS website describes the business as a manufacturing facility for custom-made hardwood pieces. Concerns over flammable manufacturing materials inside led multiple area fire departments to assist Oldsmar, including East Lake, Clearwater, Palm Harbor, Dunedin, Tarpon and Safety Harbor Fire Departments.

After an hour of spraying the warehouse with water from multiple ladder trucks, The fire appeared to be out by 9:30 p.m.

Oldsmar fire official said they were on able to enter the building to assess the damage or determine the cause of the fire, because they were still battling a few hotspots late Monday night.

Firefighters said there were no known injuries.
