Firefighters' calendar features four-legged 'diva'

- You have probably seen those racy calendars with the shirtless firefighters, right?  Well, the Haines City Fire Department just published a calendar that may give you reason to paws.

Ember, their pit bull mix mascot, is the star of the calendar.

“You can do anything to that dog, and she’ll be OK with it,” said Haines City Fire Department engineer Brett Di Piero.

Di Piero should know. Even though he says every guy at the station is her dad, he has developed a special relationship with Ember.

Seven years ago, one of the guys found Ember tied to a tree, with no food or water.  He took her back to the station and made her part of the team.

Now, she may be the best-known team member. She has her own calendar.  Each month, she is dressed in a different outfit sewn by one of the firefighters’ moms.

Di Piero says when you put a fancy dress on Ember, she becomes an instant diva.

“She’ll roll around in them and get them a little dirty, but besides that she loves to wear ‘em,” he told FOX 13.

The calendar sells for $10. You can buy one at the Haines City Fire Department. Money raised will benefit the SPCA of Florida.
