Forecast: Weekend will be coldest in months

For days, Florida has been the lone holdout as cool fall weather swept across the U.S.  Heat and humidity made it feel more like Labor Day than Thanksgiving.

But that ends now.

According to FOX 13 chief meteorologist Paul Dellegatto, our first big cold front of the season will blow through on Thursday, pulling in the coldest air we've seen in months.

The cooldown will be preceded by rounds of rain Wednesday night and Thursday.  Then temperatures will drop through the day Thursday.

Friday morning, Tampa will wake up to a temperature of only 50.  Saturday morning, temps could dip as low as 49 – Tampa’s coldest since March 23.

The cool, dry air will stick around into next week.

“It’s lots of sunshine, and crisp,” Dellegatto added.  “If you like sunshine, if you like chilly nights and mild days, it’s pretty good.”
