DUNEDIN, Fla. (FOX 13) - You know about the tiny house craze, but how about a tiny restaurant? In downtown Dunedin, taco lovers will find a lot of taste in a tiny place called Taco Baby.
“It’s 54 square feet inside, which is just enough room to fit two humans who can serve you tacos,” offered Kurt Ferguson, owner of Nina Hospitality Co. “They have to be friends, though.”
How new is it? Look up their address of 235 Main Street on Google Earth and you'll find the photo still shows a Chase ATM machine. That stand-alone ATM has been transformed into this unique taco stand.
Ferguson wanted to gain visibility for his business and decided Main Street was the perfect place. He and his wife figured out how to fit everything needed for the Taco Baby into the original tight space of the ATM.
At just under 8 feet by 8 feet, Kurt claims this is the smallest taco stand in Florida.
“Inside...you have to have your three-compartment sink, your hand-wash sink, you have to have cooler space for all of the food, and you have to have the equipment to cook the food. We barely were able to fit that in, but with a little ingenuity we were able to figure it out,” he continued.
And it seems to work, because that little Taco Baby keeps customers coming back for the big taste packed inside.
