Free bus service on new Pasco route Monday

There's a new Pasco County bus route starting up Monday, and it's free for one round trip on the first day of service.

Pasco County Public Transportation (PCPT) says that on Monday, August 15th, you can board the new County Connector Route 54 and ride for free one round trip.

The new route promises several new features, including: 

- More frequent schedule; buses will run every hour instead of two hours

- Two brand new buses with cushioned seats, reading lights and luggage racks

- New Saturday service

- Service from U.S. 19 to the Shops at Wiregrass and Tampa Premium Outlets

- Direct transfers from the following: Bus Route 14 Madison Street; Bus Route 18 Tarpon Springs/Grand Boulevard; Bus Route 25 Rowan Road; and Bus Route 23 Little Road
